If you’re interested in undergoing a breast lift procedure, you may be curious as to where the incisions will be made. After all, incisions can lead to surgical scars – and you’d like to experience as few surgical scars as possible!
Fortunately, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kyle Song is highly experienced in performing breast lifts that leave behind minimal scars. Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect in terms of where incisions will be made during a breast lift procedure.
Your Breast Lift and Resulting Incisions
The incisions made during your breast lift procedure will largely depend on the degree of sagging you’ve been experiencing. For example, minimal sagging can be corrected via ultrasound treatments, which leave behind no surgical scarring. On the other hand, excessive sagging requires more incisions, which can leave behind more obvious scarring. Dr. Song will do everything in his power to ensure you’re not left with obvious surgical scars.
Take a look at the most common incisions made during a breast lift:
- Donut Lift: The donut lift involves making incisions around the areola; this incision is involved in patients who have minimal to moderate sagging, and will often see their best improvements with the adjusting of the nipple placement.
- Lollipop Lift: For this particular type of breast lift, the incisions are made around the areola, and then from the areola to the crease of the breast. This incision is often made in patients who want to see more lift from their procedure.
- Anchor Lift: This surgical procedure involves making incisions around the areola, between the nipple and the breast crease, and horizontal to the breast crease. These incisions are made for patients who have excessive breast sagging, for those with poor tone to their tissues, or who would like to see the greatest amount of lift.
