Arm lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia and is an outpatient procedure. It is commonly combined with other body contouring procedures including tummy tuck and thigh lift surgery to enhance the overall transformation. Incisions are placed within the armpit and extend down the inside of the arm. Most surgeries involve both liposuction and excision of excess and hanging skin.
Following surgery, a compression garment is worn over the surgical site to expedite swelling reduction and to facilitate proper healing of the tissues. You should expect to wear this garment for at least three weeks after surgery. You will enjoy your new shapely and toned arms almost immediately, and scars will fade over the course of the first six months. Most patients experience some swelling, bruising and discomfort, and take approximately one week off of work. You can resume light gym activities in two weeks, and unrestricted activities in six weeks.
