Brazilian Butt Lift
Although not every woman desires a voluptuous derriere, most appreciate a full and shapely butt without saggy skin. As our tissues lose elasticity, which is especially pronounced after weight loss, the buttock loses projection and volume in the upper portion, and excess skin collects at the junction to the upper thigh, resulting in a “diaper bottom” appearance. Depending on your goals and buttock anatomy, an augmentation with fat harvested from your tummy, or a buttock lift will help achieve a firmer and sexier rear end.
Butt lift and augmentation surgery are performed under general anesthesia, and is typically an outpatient procedure. Patients undergoing a lift procedure will have temporary surgical drains to minimize fluid accumulation, and to expedite healing.
Following surgery, a compression garment is worn over the surgical site to expedite swelling reduction and to facilitate proper healing of the tissues. You should expect to wear this garment for at least six weeks after surgery. For patients with drains, they are removed somewhere approximately one week after surgery. While the drains are in place, you are allowed to shower as usual, but are asked to refrain from taking baths or being submerged in water. Most patients experience some swelling, bruising and discomfort, and take between one and two weeks off work. During the first six weeks after surgery, you should sleep on your front, and avoid sitting for longer than thirty minutes at a time. You can resume light gym activities in three weeks, and unrestricted activities in six weeks.
