If you’re considering undergoing rhinoplasty surgery, it’s probably an understatement to say you’re excited about how this cosmetic procedure can change your life.

We don’t blame you! After all, rhinoplasty surgery (more commonly referred to as a “nose job”) remains one of the most popular procedures in the United States, with sky-high patient satisfaction rates. Rhinoplasty surgery can be a game-changer for people, especially if they’ve always felt self-conscious about their appearance because of their nose.
If you count yourself as one of them, there may be one thing holding you back from feeling truly excited about your surgery: confusion about when you can return back to work.
We get it: While PTO is limited, you don’t want to return to work before you’re physically and emotionally ready. That’s why we’re examining the average time it takes to return to work after a rhinoplasty.
Before we dive into our recommendations, it’s important to note that everyone is different. Some patients may heal a lot faster from their rhinoplasty surgery, while others may take a little more time to get back on their feet. That’s perfectly normal! Don’t rush going back to work before you’re ready, as it could be detrimental to your physical health.
How Much Time Should I Take Off For Rhinoplasty?
In general, we find that most patients are able to go back to work about one week after their rhinoplasty procedure. This is for patients who have more sedentary jobs or are still in school; if you work a physically strenuous job, we ask that you take two weeks off before you get back to your job.
Most patients are able to confidently engage in social activities about two to three weeks after surgery when most bruising is gone. However, you shouldn’t go back to the gym for at least a month after your procedure so as to minimize injury risk to your fragile post-op nose.
