Are you interested in undergoing facelift surgery, but not sure how much time you’ll have to take off to recover?
As it turns out, you may not need as long as you think. Take a look at the average duration of facelift recovery, including tips on how to have a fast and successful facelift recovery.
How Long You’ll Be Recovering from a Facelift
While every patient is different, the truth is that most people only need to take about one to two weeks off from work to recover. These first two weeks are when the majority of your recovery takes place, so it’s best to relax and give your body the space it needs to heal.
Plus, post-op bruising and swelling are most obvious during the first week, so you may want to stay at home while your face recovers from surgery.
After that pivotal first couple of weeks, you can return to work. Most patients are able to resume all normal activities – including working out – about two to three weeks after facelift surgery.
How to Have a Successful Facelift Recovery
1. Relax – don’t rush it.
A lot of patients have a tough time doing nothing during that first week of recovery – and we don’t blame them. We’re trained to always be on the go in this busy world. But don’t push yourself to go back to work before you’re ready. Give yourself permission to heal – your facelift results will be all the better for it!
2. Get help.
Whether it’s your spouse at home or friends checking in, consider having trusted people check in on you during your first few days of recovery. This period of time is when you’ll be most groggy, so it’s a good idea to have someone home to help you out.
3. Follow your recovery plan.
Your plastic surgeon will provide you with a customized recovery plan. Be sure to follow it, including attending all of your post-op appointments with your plastic surgeon.
