Overview
The goal of Asian eyelid surgery, or double eyelid surgery, is to enhance the upper eyelid by creating a natural fold while maintaining cultural sensitivity to retain the patient’s ethnic appearance. As such, the technique for Asian blepharoplasty differs from a standard Caucasian upper eyelid surgery.
Surgery
Typically this procedure is done under “twilight” anesthesia, and occasionally may be done in an office setting.
Recovery
Most young patients require little to no skin excision, and as such, have minimal bruising and swelling. You may return to normal daily activities immediately, and back to work or school within a few days.
